Francesca Mondi
Francesca Mondi
Francesca Mondi is the artist name used by London vocalist Francesca Raimondi-Taylor. The classically trained singer and songwriter is a seasoned performer in jazz and latin styles in London and overseas. She was featured by Nigel Williams on Jazz Fm and Giles Peterson Worldwide for her lead vocals on the track 'Southern Freez' and has had her EP showcased on BBC Radio London. The debut EP 'Devil's Door' was released in April 2017 showcasing Francesca's original song-writing and arrangements.

Francesca’s love for music started in her early years. Exposed to jazz as a child, Francesca went on to receive a classical training in her teens, performing in Opera productions at the University of British Columbia and beginning to write and compose.

In her early twenties Francesca continued to develop her personal style from a wide variety of influences in jazz such as Ella Fitzgerald, Billy holiday, Anita o'day as well as a host of world musicians such as Victor Jara, Monica Salmaso and Buena Vista Social Club. She explains that the move towards jazz was a ‘natural transition’ aided by influencers such as Amy Winehouse and Norah Jones.

In 2015 Francesca began to study under established London artists. She has since been making a name for herself on the London circuit with the releaese of 'Devil's Door' (2017) which features top instrumentalists and positions her amongst the thriving young jazz community. Here she continues to perform as an artist and working musician. Her sets are a mix of swing, dreamy ballads, bossa nova, samba, funk and blues that are constantly adapting to the environment to create varied performances. Her originals are a throwback to trad jazz with a hint of dixieland and an alternative modern edge. She uses vocal harmonies and divisive progressions to create songs which are at once reminiscent of a 1930s swing band with touches of alternative pop and psychedelic rock

Wednesdays Wolves
Wednesdays Wolves
Wednesday's Wolves is a folk duo comprised of Ysabelle Durant and Chrissy Renker. Both third culture kids, they met while at school in Sri Lanka although their musical collaboration didn't start until they had both finished University. They first sang together in the summer of 2012 where they were asked to perform a few covers at a charity concert in aid of Save the Children. In June 2013 they began writing their own material and performing at open mic nights around the UK quickly leading to several invitations to perform longer sets at gigs in London and Oxford, one of which found them on the same bill as producer and member of Tired Pony Iain Archer. In December 2013 they were featured on BBC Radio Oxford's open mic slot. Their songs use simple guitar riffs and vocal harmonies combined with a variety of percussive instruments such as cajons and glockenspiels to create emotive and evocative music. Inspirations include artists like Sufjan Stevens, The Paper Kites, Bright Eyes, Fionn Regan and Bon Iver.
