People Poems
People Poems
“Vocally, People Poems somewhat resemble a dream pairing of Antony Hegarty and Joanna Newsom... It's powerful, soul-bearing stuff, a rewarding listen and possessed of an uncommon and individual beauty.” -Brendan Campbell, North Leeds Life

"...this genuinely beautiful EP brings out the best in People Poems" -Jac Holloway, Noizze

"...the delightful vocal harmonies sending a shiver down one's spine" -Mike Price, Vibrations Magazine

People Poems is the solo project of Leeds musician Harry Orme, frequently aided by his regular collaborators Francesca Haincourt (vocals) and Matthew Aplin (piano). Stream/download their music here, watch live footage here, or find out when they're next playing near you here.

Alan Bonner
Alan Bonner
ALAN BONNER - Singer, Songwriter, BalladeerAlan Bonner is a singer-songwriter based in London. After leaving his small village in Suffolk for the bright lights of London at 18, he's spent the past few years writing, recording and playing at venues across the UK and Europe, all the while writing lyrics on beer mats and bashing out chords on a beaten Piano.Since graduating from the Brighton Institute of Modern Music in 2007, Alan's emotionally-charged live shows have left audiences stunned, not only by the intensity of his performances and quality of his vocals, but by the honesty and confessional nature of his songs. Having supported acts such as FYFE DANGERFEILD, DAVID FORD, IN ME, GOLDHEART ASSEMBLY, and SONS OF NOEL AND ADRIAN, he has built up a loyal following and has played at festivals throughout the UK including OXJAM, GLOBAL GATHERING and BRIGHTON LIVE

.Alan Bonner came to create a sort of poetic oasis amongst the more vivacious and aggressive guitar-based bands. His music was an onomatopoeic melange of sounds, where the melodic piano meets the melancholic cello and the softly-stroked guitar.
All instruments were then embraced by Alan's gritty yet mellifluous vocals and the sound of it was interesting. Pieces like Narcissist's Wet Dream and Talia stood out as possible singles, both reminiscent of Tori Amos' evocative airs and with decadent themes " la Bowie." "Alan Bonner plays glam-tinged Piano ballads. You will want to steal his fabulously vintage outfits."TIME OUT LONDON

The Billy Shinebone Show
The Billy Shinebone Show
folk & blues & rock & roll -all my brain & body need....

Right now, The Billy Shinbone Show has finished mixing the debut album! We've had real fun making this record- taking pianos apart, building big piles of amps, digging out Dobros & electric sitars, cheap glockenspiels & cheap accordions, borrowing beautiful expensive mandolins & baritone guitars, making percussion from old motorcycle sprockets & just hitting stuff to see what kind of noise it made. It'll be coming out in the spring on Tiny Dog Records!

At the same time you can catch me playing guitar with the Neville Staple Band, up & down the country, here & there. Yup, that's Neville from the Specials & Fun Boy Three - playing ska, reggae & classic two-tone sounds. It's a great job- I get to play guitar & jump up & down to great music with my friends. Every now & again Flipron get to play a gig or two & you can catch me there too!

Jasmine Beth
Jasmine Beth
Jasmine's passion for music started with studying classical piano at the age of nine and spending hours lost in her parents' vinyl collection. As a teenager, she developed an eclectic range of tastes, listening to everything, from Chopin to the Bill Evans Trio to the great singer-songwriters of the '60s and '70s - Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, Leonard Cohen, Joni Mitchell, Tom Waits and James Taylor.

However, it was not until years later, while living in South London, that she picked up the guitar and started to sing. Within eight months, she played her first gig at an underground record store, and she hasn't looked back since.

Jasmine's singing and songwriting have gained increasing critical and public attention and have been recognised through several awards. In 2014, she was a finalist in the Australian Songwriting Competition. In 2010, she won Second Prize in both the Sydney Singer-Songwriter Competition and the Kommotion Singer-Songwriter Contest. In 2009, she won the Bermagui Seaside Music Competition and was invited to record at Pirate Studios. She was also a semi-finalist in the 2009 U.K. Songwriting Competition.

Jasmine released her eponymous debut EP in early 2012 with launch gigs at The Basement, Sydney and The Wesley Anne, Melbourne, and an extensive regional tour.

Since then, she's toured the UK and Europe twice, and has started to make her presence known on the festival circuit, with appearances at the Illawarra Folk Festival, the Wingham Acoustic Festival, the Northern Beaches Music Festival, the Bonnie Doon Festival, the Pfeiffer Wines Festival and others.
