Calming River
Calming River
Alternative, melodic and intimate—just some of the words used to describe the music of Calming River, the pseudonym of British born songwriter, Joshua Malcolm.

The name may conjure tranquillity but there has always been a latent, opposing flow of tension and strife to be found—a fragility that emanates within a delicate and darkened confine. 2015 EP ‘The Ones That We Left Behind’ builds upon debut 2014 release ‘Afflict and Redeem’, in portraying a harrowing scene of emotion depth, lyrical poignancy and technical proficiency.

Both releases have been widely appreciated within folk circles, with glowing reviews and airplay throughout Europe, North America and Australasia.

A travelling troubadour, Malcolm now writes and records music in Aarhus, Denmark.
